Dr. Affan Qaiser Faces Backlash for Controversial Remarks About Women

Health Expert Lands in Hot Water Over Podcast Comments

Dr. Affan Qaiser, one of Pakistan’s most recognized gastroenterologists and transplant hepatologists, has come under fire for his recent remarks about women. Known for his educational health videos and a massive social media following — over 5 million followers on Facebook and 430,000 subscribers on YouTube — Dr. Affan has long been admired for his informative content. However, his latest comments have sparked a storm of criticism online.

The Controversial Statement That Started It All

During a recent podcast with Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Orakzai, Dr. Affan made a statement that many found demeaning toward women. He said,

“If there is a fat woman with hair on her face, it means her hormones are disturbed. How can a man be attracted to her, especially when he has beautiful women available on the internet or elsewhere?”

This remark quickly went viral, leading to widespread outrage and disappointment from both male and female followers.

Guest’s Response and Public Reaction

Responding to Dr. Affan’s statement, Dr. Mushtaq Orakzai advised men to avoid non-mahram women and instead choose lawful marriage if they struggle with desire. However, this did little to calm the backlash that followed.

Social media platforms were flooded with criticism. One user wrote, “This video insulted women — I felt genuinely hurt.” Another sarcastically commented, “Seems like Dr. Saab admires Nora Fatehi more than his own wife.” Women especially voiced their anger, saying, “We tolerate men with unattractive features, yet they complain about women’s looks.”

Dr. Affan’s Reputation at Stake

Dr. Affan, who is married to Dr. Nazish Affan and father to three children, has yet to issue a clarification. Fans who once respected his professionalism now urge him to reflect on his words and understand the influence his platform carries.
