TikTok Removes Over 25 Million Videos from Pakistan in Just Three Months

Massive Content Takedown in Q2 2025

In a major move to enforce its community standards, TikTok has deleted more than 25 million videos from Pakistan during the second quarter of 2025. According to the platform’s Q2 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, a total of 25,448,992 videos were taken down between April and June for violating TikTok’s Community Guidelines.

Swift and Proactive Moderation

The report revealed that 99.7% of the removed videos were taken down proactively, even before users could report them. Moreover, 96.2% of these videos were deleted within 24 hours of being uploaded — showcasing TikTok’s improved AI-powered content moderation system and commitment to online safety.

TikTok’s Focus on Local Enforcement

While the report included global figures, Pakistan stood out as one of the most closely monitored regions. With its rapidly growing user base, the company has been enhancing local moderation tools to better detect harmful, misleading, or inappropriate content. TikTok officials stated that these measures aim to ensure a secure and positive digital experience for Pakistani users.

Transparency and Accountability

TikTok emphasized that its quarterly transparency reports are designed to keep users informed about the nature of removed content and the efforts to maintain platform integrity. The full report — featuring details from previous quarters and updates on safety tools and policies — is accessible through TikTok’s Transparency Center, available in both Urdu and English.

A Step Toward Safer Social Media

As Pakistan remains one of TikTok’s top markets, this large-scale content removal reflects the platform’s ongoing mission to balance creativity with responsibility. By strengthening moderation and enforcing its guidelines, TikTok aims to foster a safer online community while maintaining its position as the country’s most popular short-video platform.
